Statutory, internal, and special-purpose audits under the Companies Act and ICAI Standards on Auditing.
Anil Arora & Co.’s audit and assurance practice conducts statutory audits under the Companies Act 2013, tax audits under section 44AB of the Income-tax Act 1961, GST audits, internal and concurrent audits, and a range of special-purpose audits and certifications. Audit is the firm’s foundational practice.
The proprietor leads every engagement. We follow the ICAI Standards on Auditing (SA 200 series), document working papers in line with SA 230, and issue opinions in the form prescribed by the relevant statute. The aim is a clean, well-reasoned report that stands up to scrutiny — from the board, the regulator, and the eventual reader.
For groups with multi-location operations, we coordinate site visits, stock counts, and component-level work so the consolidated audit closes on schedule.
What this covers
The bullets below describe what is typically in scope. Every engagement is scoped tightly in a written engagement letter before work begins.
Who it's for
Private and public companies that need a statutory auditor; partnership firms and LLPs that cross the section 44AB turnover threshold; co-operative societies, trusts, and Section 8 companies with their own statutory requirements.
Boards and audit committees commissioning internal audit, forensic reviews, or one-off investigations; banks and NBFCs commissioning concurrent or stock audits.
Indian subsidiaries of overseas parents that need an audit aligned both to Indian law and to the parent’s group reporting calendar.
Our approach
We open every engagement with a planning meeting and a written engagement letter setting out scope, timelines, and the audit team. Risk assessment follows SA 315 and is documented before fieldwork begins. We use materiality benchmarks appropriate to the entity (typically a percentage of profit before tax, revenue, or net assets depending on user-needs), and we test internal controls in line with SA 330 before substantive procedures. Working papers are retained for the period required under the Companies (Audit and Auditors) Rules. The audit report is issued in the format required by SA 700 / 705 / 706, with a clear basis for opinion and emphasis-of-matter or key-audit-matter paragraphs where warranted.
